Nurse Practitioner - Urgent Care

Summary

Provide medical care and perform selective medical services to patients in an urgent care setting in collaboration with other health care professionals when required.

Full-time (36 hours)

Urgent Care

Days/Evenings (Monday
- Friday, Weekends); 12‑hour shifts

• At least one year of experience as an NP preferred, ideally in an emergency medicine or urgent care setting
• Compassionate, warm and patient focused
• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision
• Exceptional documentation skills and professional behavior
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment

In addition to base pay, certain provider positions may receive variable compensation in accordance with health system pay practices (productivity incentives, bonus compensation, or other variable pay).

• Interact regularly with patients, family members, support services, regulatory agencies, and payor agencies with empathy, problem‑solving, education, and counseling.
• Prescribe drugs, devices, and immunizing agents following policy and practice agreement.
• Perform therapeutic and corrective measures within area of expertise in collaboration with other health team members.

MS:
Advanced Practice Nursing (Required)

• NP
  - Nurse Practitioner Certification, New York State Education Department (NYSED)
• RN
  - Registered Nurse, NYSED

Medium work:
Exerting 20–50 pounds of force occasionally, 10–25 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly; requires frequent walking, standing, or squatting.
