Operating Room - Cardiac - Registered Nurse First Assist; RNFA - Registered Nurse Inpatient

Responsibilities

• Provide competent direct patient care under the direction of the Nurse Manager in the OR setting.
• Support unit activities and contribute to the enhancement of the care delivery system at the unit level.
• Assist the surgical team in performing cardiac operations, collaborating with the surgeon to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Perform OR staff RN duties when not assigned in RNFA role.
• Assume expanded roles such as charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member as required.
• Engage in perioperative nursing practice, with preferred cardiac scrubbing and circulating experience.
• Attend to vein harvesting when required.
• Support peers in delivery of patient care services and assess unit needs.

• Diploma, Associate or Bachelor's degree from an accredited Nursing Program.
• Active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing.
• Minimum of 6‑12 months of RN experience.
• NYS Registered Professional Nurse license required.
• CNOR certification required.
• Completion of an accredited RN First Assistant course required.
• Knowledge, skill, and judgment specific to OR nursing; proficiency in perioperative nursing practice.
• Preferred cardiac scrubbing and circulating experience.
• Vein harvesting experience required.

  Regular full time, 40 hours weekly, per diem positions available (D/E, 8/10/12 hour shifts, rotating evening call, no weekends or holidays).
• Compensation: $40.03–$54.04 per hour, within the specified range based on experience.
