Location: City of Rochester
Overview
Registered Nurse – Med/Surg, Rochester, NY. Travel assignment starting 08/03/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay range: $2,049 to $2,198 per week. Shift: 12-hour rotations (days/evenings/nights). Work in an inpatient unit focused on end-of-life symptom management with general medicine overflow. Telemetry experience is NOT required.

- On-call per unit need
- Inpatient unit with adult patients (18+), end-of-life symptom management and general medicine overflow
- Deliver direct bedside nursing care to adult patients on the unit, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care
- Monitor patient status, recognize changes, and respond promptly; advocate for patients and families in crisis
- Administer medications and therapies per protocol, including IV therapy and wound care; manage analgesia needs and chart outcomes
- Support symptom management at end of life, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and palliative care services
- Perform accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses; ensure safety and quality standards
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care team; participate in rounds and care conferences
- Rotate through D/E/N shifts and participate in weekends/holidays as required by unit need
- Active NYS RN license
- Minimum 2 years of recent palliative or acute med/surg experience
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Experience with patient-controlled analgesia pumps or CHPN certification highly desired
- Ability to work in an inpatient adult unit; strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Ability to manage complex patient needs and family conversations; comfortable with on-call per unit needs
Active NYS RN license required
