Under the direction of leadership, is accountable for provision of competent direct patient care based on established standards. Contributes to unit activities and supports enhancement of the care delivery system at the unit level. Supports peers in the delivery of patient care services and assumes an expanded role which may include charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities. This is an exciting outpatient RN position that combines acute care experience and effective communication skills within the outpatient healthcare realm.
Our clinic offers specialized care and primary care for patients with various infectious diseases, including bacterial, viral, fungal, parasitic infections, HIV, sexually transmitted diseases, hospital acquired infections, and infections related to surgery, trauma, transplantation, and cancer therapy. Responsibilities include telephone triage, MyChart communications, IV placement, medication administrations, vaccine administration, and collection of blood, urine, sputum samples and swabs.
FT 40 hours M-F days only, no holidays, weekends, or call.
QualificationsMinimum of 2 years of nursing practice experience. A valid nursing license in the State of New York is required. Experience in infectious disease care, outpatient settings, or similar clinical environments is preferred. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team are essential.
