Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care for assigned patients as part of the hemodialysis health care team under the supervision of a registered nurse.
- Administer and monitor dialysis treatments in accordance with the treatment plan; document related parameters and patient information.
- Report significant changes, incidents, or equipment issues to the supervisor; assist in maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
- Educate patients and families about end-stage renal disease, dialysis therapy, diet, and medications; participate in emergency procedures as needed.
- Safely operate dialysis equipment and perform basic troubleshooting; ensure compliance with infection control policies.
- Participate in staff meetings and coordinate care plans with physicians, dietitians, and social workers.
- Education:
Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing (LPN, LVN) or equivalent; current state licensure. - Experience:
One year medical-surgical nursing experience preferred. Hemodialysis experience preferred but not required. ICU experience preferred but not required. - Certifications:
CPR Certification; ability to complete the Nurses Technical Training Program upon hire or soon thereafter. - Other:
Ability to provide coverage at area facilities during times of short-staffing; meet color vision requirements per policy; good verbal and written communication skills.
Typically includes desk and computer work, patient and staff interaction, and direct patient care involving heavy lifting, standing, and bending. May require moving equipment weighing up to 200 lbs and handling up to 30 lbs of solution, with travel between facilities. Work environment is a healthcare facility with variable noise levels and potential exposure to infectious materials. Reasonable accommodations available.
Education and Training- Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing (LPN, LVN); current state licensure.
Hourly Rate: $22.00 – $35.00, depending on location, qualifications, and experience. Fresenius Medical Care maintains a drug-free workplace in accordance with applicable laws. EOE, disability/veterans.
