Responsibilities
  • Patient Care. Provide outpatient care to Gynecologic Oncology patients Monday through Friday. Obtain comprehensive medical histories, perform physical examinations, assess treatment tolerability, evaluate psychosocial adjustment to diagnosis, manage acute treatment-related complications, and order laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures.
  • Management & Development. Develop treatment plans in collaboration with the attending physician and multidisciplinary team, including nursing and social work, to provide optimal patient care. Coordinate specialty consultations, assist with research data collection as appropriate, and participate in ongoing professional development. Opportunities are available to develop procedural skills, including pelvic examinations, biopsies, and other in-office gynecologic procedures.
  • Patient Satisfaction. Interact on a frequent, regular, and daily basis with patients, family members, physicians, nursing, social work, and other healthcare professionals. Provide education, counseling, and support while helping patients navigate their diagnosis and treatment plan with empathy and compassion.
  • Medication & Orders. Prescribe medications, write orders, perform approved outpatient procedures, and respond to changes in patient condition in collaboration with the multidisciplinary oncology team.
  • Documentation. Obtain complete, detailed, and accurate patient histories; review patient records; perform physical examinations; and document all pertinent findings to develop comprehensive treatment plans and ensure continuity of care for assigned patients.
