About This Role
The Pediatric Specialty Nurse in the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Clinic provides expert nursing care to oncology and hematology patients, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team dedicated to clinical excellence and family-centered care.
Highlights- Pay: $38.76 - $52.33/hour
- Location: Rochester, NY
- Facility: Strong Memorial Hospital
- Department/Unit: Pediatric Specialty Nurses
- Schedule: Full-time, Day shift
- Provide competent direct patient care based on established standards.
- Contribute to unit activities and support enhancement of the care delivery system.
- Support peers in the delivery of patient care services.
- Assume expanded roles including charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities.
- Manage oncology and hematology patients requiring blood product administration and chemotherapy.
- Evaluate and treat fever and neutropenia, and manage pain crisis.
- Conduct comprehensive telephone triage and care management.
- Educate patients and families.
- Participate in quality improvement, workflow optimization, and research initiatives.
Education:
- Not specified
- Previous pediatric experience, including chemotherapy administration, strongly preferred.
Certifications:
- Current RN License in New York
