First Assist

Registered Nurse First Assistant – Operating Room

Schedule:

36 or 48 hours per week, Monday to Friday, day shifts with on-call responsibilities until 11 PM, no weekends or holidays.

Assignment Details:
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Requirements:

• RN License (New York License only)
• CNOR Certification
• Completion of an accredited RN First Assistant course
• Two (2) years of experience in an operating room setting
• Proficient in perioperative nursing practice; scrubbing and circulating experience preferred
• Davinci Robotics experience required, including but not limited to:
• Robotic Urology
• Robotic GYN
• Robotic Colorectal
• Robotic Surgical Oncology
• Robotic Thoracic
• Robotic General Surgery
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association only) required
• ACLS Certification (American Heart Association only) preferred

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Collaborates with the surgeon and healthcare team to ensure patient safety and optimal surgical outcomes.
• Practices perioperative nursing, utilizing acquired knowledge, skills, and judgment in the operating room.
• Assists in the operative phase of the perioperative experience as directed by the surgeon.
• Performs duties of an OR staff RN when not in the RNFA role.
• Maintains professional competence and engages in continuing education as required.
