Join Rochester Regional Health's growing Bariatric Surgery team and make a meaningful impact on patients' lives through surgical weight loss and metabolic care. This unique role offers a dynamic blend of operating room, inpatient, and outpatient responsibilities, allowing you to build strong patient relationships while gaining extensive surgical experience alongside a collaborative team of bariatric surgeons and APPs.
STATUS: Full‑Time
LOCATION: Rochester General Hospital
DEPARTMENT: Bariatric Surgery
SCHEDULE: Four 10‑hour shifts (7:00 AM - 5:00 PM) with one weekday off; rotating 1:5 weekend call and 1-2 holidays per year
- Unique blend of OR, clinic, and inpatient care
- First‑assist opportunities in bariatric and select general surgery procedures
- Typical schedule includes approximately 2 OR days and 2 clinic days each week
- Four 10‑hour shifts providing added weekday flexibility
- Collaborative team of experienced bariatric surgeons and APPs
- Opportunity to develop expertise in a high‑demand surgical specialty

- First assist in bariatric procedures including gastric sleeve, gastric bypass, revisions, and duodenal switch surgeries
- Assist with endoscopic and select general surgery procedures
- Provide inpatient care including consults, rounding, post‑operative management, and discharges
- Conduct pre‑operative evaluations and post‑operative follow‑up visits
- Manage patient calls, prescription refills, lab reviews, and electronic patient messages
- Educate and support patients throughout their surgical weight‑loss journey
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, APPs, and multidisciplinary team members to deliver exceptional patient care
PAY RANGE: $ - $
The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
