The unit is a critical care step-down facility focusing on providing exceptional, evidence-based care.
The patient population consists of adult acute care patients needing specialized care beyond a general medical-surgical unit.
Patients are continuously monitored for pulse-oximetry and telemetry.
Responsibilities include airway management, acute BIPAP support, and handling patients with arterial and central lines.
Nurses will be involved with titrated medicated IV infusions and will adapt care to meet individual needs.
The healthcare team provides compassionate and vigilant care using a multidisciplinary approach.
Professional topics include isolation precautions and advanced patient monitoring techniques.
Additional skills required encompass dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV therapy, phlebotomy, and emergency response protocols.
The unit has a total of 26 beds with a mix of interdisciplinary support available, including therapy and social services.
This role includes addressing diverse patient diagnoses, primarily focused on pulmonary patients.
Candidates will be expected to float as needed across similar units.
