EP Lab RN – Electrophysiology

License: NY license required

Certifications:

ACLS, BLS

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years in Electrophysiology

EMR:
Epic required

Unit-specific skills:

• Phlebotomy and IV insertion skills
• Electrophysiology procedures: cardiac ablation, mapping, conduction studies, cardioversion
• Device work: pacemaker and AICD insertion/programming
• Procedural support: scrub procedures, Micropace monitoring, sheath removal, vascular closure systems
• Hemostasis and blood management: ACT, topical hemostasis products, blood product administration
• Critical meds/skills: IV vasopressors, emergency meds, thrombolytics, starting/maintaining IVs, phlebotomy
• Dysrhythmia identification/management and monitoring procedural sedation

Compliance / Notes:

• Orientation: 40 hours
• Scrubs:
  Provided
• Pre-approved time off:
  One week allowed
• Return-to-office/time off restrictions:
  Do not allow more than 1 week RTO in a contract
• Background policy:
  Reviewed case-by-case
• Modules:
  Pre-start modules required, billable up to 5 hours; total may reach 10 hours
