American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring an active NY license, 2 years of charge experience, and NIHSS certification.

• Work in the MS/Tele unit of a tertiary care hospital with 528 staffed beds
• Care for a complex medicine, ortho overflow, and long-term complex patient population
• Patient ratio ranges from 1:5 to 1:7 for Med Surg
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00)
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Floating required
• Charting performed in Epic
• Scrub color: navy on bottom, navy or white on top

• Active NY RN license required in hand, no exceptions
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Proficiency in Epic required
• Experience with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code teams
• Experience with pacemakers (temporary/permanent), central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care/management
• Experience with blood product administration, IV starts, phlebotomy, and heparin protocols
• Experience with feeding tube care, surgical drains, and tracheostomy management
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience with respiratory support including HFNC, nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, and portable oxygen tanks
• Experience with ortho trauma and total joint replacement patients

• Provide comprehensive medical-surgical and telemetry nursing care to a complex patient population
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for consideration
• Local candidates within 75 miles are not accepted
• Cannot have more than 10 days of requested time off (RTO) at time of consideration
• Previous staff must have a 6-month system-wide break in service before returning
