American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg-Tele night shift position requiring an active NY license in hand and NIHSS certification.

• Work in the MS/Tele unit of a tertiary care hospital with 528 staffed beds
• Care for a general medical-surgical and telemetry patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7 for Med Surg patients
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00-07:00
• 13-week contract length
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating required
• Uses EPIC EMR system

• Active NY RN license required in hand with no exceptions
• Current certifications:
  Basic Life Support (BLS) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 1 year of MS/Tele nursing experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response
• Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams
• Proficient in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
• Experience with respiratory care including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and oxygen tanks
• Knowledgeable in non-invasive airway management and isolation precautions/PPE
• Candidates must not have more than 10 days of requested time off (RTO)

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients, including cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Scrub attire in any combination of navy and white required
• Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel pay rate
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Previous employees may be considered if it has been at least 6 months since their last assignment with the health system
