American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position requiring an active NY RN license and Epic experience.

• Work in a 26-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) within a tertiary care hospital
• Unit serves as a critical care step-down area receiving patients from the ED, PACU, ICU, and medical-surgical floors
• Care for adult, acute care patients requiring continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring
• Patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7 for Med Surg patients
• Manage patients requiring airway management, acute BiPAP support, arterial lines, central lines, and titrated IV medication infusions
• Night shift schedule of 3x12 or 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Work every other weekend
• Floating required
• Epic EMR experience required

• Active NY RN license required in hand, no exceptions
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience utilizing Rapid Response and Code teams
• Proficient in peripheral IV line care and management
• Competent in respiratory care including nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tanks, and non-invasive airway management
• Knowledgeable in isolation precautions and PPE protocols

• Provide evidence-based, compassionate care using a multi-disciplinary team approach
• Adapt quickly to varying patient care needs within a fast-paced step-down unit
• Facility is a tertiary care hospital with 528 total staffed beds
• Scrub color requirement is any combination of navy and white
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be considered
• Previous employees must have a 6-month system-wide break in service before returning
• Candidates with more than 10 days of requested RTO will not be considered
