Key Responsibilities of the SMH Level 1 RN Psych
- Unit 3900:

• Conduct intake assessments through patient and relative interviews
• Plan and provide nursing care for patients
• Make nursing diagnoses and recommend treatment options
• Consult with psychiatrists and behavioral health staff for treatment planning
• Administer and monitor reactions to medications
• Arrange further medical attention as necessary
• Assist clients in understanding emotional disturbances and treatments
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff and patients
• Test for vital signs of pain and ensure treatment
• Document patient information on medical charts
• Maintain patient confidentiality
• Maintain accurate records of treatments, immunizations, and lab results
• Perform administrative tasks such as filing, answering phones, and completing progress notes
• Provide high-quality service to patients and the public

Requirements of the SMH Level 1 RN Psych
- Unit 3900:

• CPI Certification
• NY License ONLY
• BLS Certification (AHA) ONLY
• Minimum 2 years experience
