Psychiatric Nurse

Seeking an experienced Psychiatric Emergency Department RN to provide high-quality nursing care to patients experiencing acute behavioral health and psychiatric needs. The RN will conduct comprehensive assessments, administer medications, collaborate with psychiatrists and behavioral health professionals, and maintain a safe environment for both patients and staff.

• Conduct intake and psychiatric assessments through interviews with patients and family members.
• Develop and provide individualized nursing care plans.
• Assess patients' medical and emotional conditions and identify appropriate treatment needs.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and behavioral health staff to develop treatment plans.
• Administer psychotropic medications and monitor/document patient responses.
• Monitor vital signs, assess pain, and provide appropriate interventions.
• Arrange additional medical attention when clinically necessary.
• Educate patients regarding emotional disturbances and the importance of treatment.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for patients and staff.
• Accurately document assessments, treatments, medications, laboratory results, and patient progress in the electronic medical record.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with medical recordkeeping standards.
• Perform required administrative and computer-based documentation tasks.
• Provide courteous, professional service to patients and families.

• Active New York RN License – Required
• BLS certification through American Heart Association (AHA) – Required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience – Required
• Telemetry experience – Preferred
• Psychiatric/behavioral health or emergency psychiatric experience preferred
• Must be available for 48 hours/week
• Must be able to work rotating days/nights, weekends, holidays, and unit-required on-call/callback/charge assignments
• Shift is 12-hour rotating shifts (Days/Eves/nights), 36 and 48 hours/week
• Location is Rochester, NY 14642
• No local candidates accepted within 50 miles from the job location
• Pay Range for 36 hrs/week: $2,140 - $2,180 per week
• Pay Range for 48 hrs/week: $2,800 - $2,828 per week
