Key responsibilities of the EP Lab RN include:
- Perform baseline measurements and cardiac mapping
- Assist with cardiac ablation and conduction studies
- Manage pacemaker insertion and AICD programming
- Administer anticoagulants, thrombolytics, and antihypertensives
- Conduct dysrhythmia management and sheath removal
- Use vascular closure systems and monitor activated clotting time
Requirements of the EP Lab RN include:
- Valid NY license or pending license acceptable
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an EP Lab
- Competency in EPIC charting system
- Skill in phlebotomy and IV placement mandatory
