Description:
Must have valid New York nursing license in hand.
The specialty is Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU).The shift is 4x12 nights from 19:00 to 07:30.Weekend requirements include every other weekend.
First-time travelers are accepted.
Local candidates are not accepted; applicants must be over a 75-mile radius.
This unit has 16 beds and handles a variety of cases, including sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, heart failure, and multi-organ failure.
Patient-to-nurse ratios are typically 1:2, with occasional 1:1 based on acuity.
Charting experience with EPIC is a hard requirement.
Preferred skills include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, care for ventilated patients, and arterial line management.
Familiarity with CRRT, ECMO, and advanced cardiac support equipment is required.
The patient population includes adults and geriatrics with complex medical needs.
Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, and respiratory services.
Candidates may be required to float to different units as needed.
COVID-19 vaccination is not required, and flu vaccine requirements are unknown.
Candidates with foreign education will need verification.
