Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Adult)

Rochester, NY | Acute Care

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 15-Week Assignment | Every other weekend required | Every other holiday required

• Provide emergency nursing care to adult and geriatric patients across all emergency diagnoses, including CVA/stroke, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, TBI, cardiac dysrhythmias, and orthopedic trauma
• Perform and manage IV therapy including blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and IV vasopressor administration
• Operate and monitor respiratory support equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, and ventilators
• Conduct triage and implement appropriate isolation precautions in a high-volume emergency department setting
• Utilize special equipment such as Bair hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling equipment; maintain a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Float within skillset as needed and complete pre-start modules prior to assignment start date

• Active New York Single State RN license required — pending licenses are not accepted (NY is not a Compact state)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required — must be included at time of submission
• Minimum 1 year of emergency room nursing experience required
• EPIC charting experience is a hard requirement
• Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position

• Experience with pediatric emergency care, including pediatric spinal cord injury
• Background in stroke center or advanced thrombectomy-capable facility
• Familiarity with crisis intervention protocols and trauma stabilization
• Prior travel nursing experience welcomed — first-time travelers are accepted

• Work in a state-of-the-art, Magnet-recognized emergency department with a dedicated pediatric ED, advanced diagnostic technology, and a fully equipped trauma suite
• Gain experience at an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center within a 528-bed acute care teaching facility affiliated with nationally recognized health systems
