Schedule / Job TypeContract | Rotating Shifts (Days, Evenings, Nights) | Includes Holiday, On-Call, Callback, and Charge Rotation per Unit Needs
Key Responsibilities- Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill neurological patients in a 12-bed, state-of-the-art Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit
- Manage and monitor patients with diagnoses including traumatic brain injury, aneurysm, status epilepticus, stroke, and other critical neurologic pathologies
- Apply strong critical thinking and organizational skills to deliver high-acuity, individualized patient care
- Utilize telemetry monitoring as part of ongoing patient assessment and care
- Participate in charge nurse responsibilities, on-call, and callback rotations as needed by the unit
- Active New York State RN License (NY License ONLY)
- Minimum two (2) years of RN experience in an ICU acute care setting
- BLS certification – American Heart Association ONLY
- ACLS certification – American Heart Association ONLY
- NIHSS certification required
- Telemetry experience required
- Experience caring for patients with traumatic brain injury or stroke in a dedicated neuro ICU environment
- Demonstrated ability to remain current in critical care knowledge and best practices
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills within a multidisciplinary team setting
