Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Rochester, NY | Acute Care

Contract | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 8-Week Assignment

• Provide telemetry and stepdown-level care for adult and geriatric patients, including those with long-term pulmonary conditions, ENT surgical needs, and other surgical diagnoses requiring step-down monitoring
• Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and coordinate with Rapid Response and Code teams as needed
• Administer oxygen therapy via nasal cannula and manage non-invasive airway support; administer blood products and manage cardiac drips (no titration required)
• Maintain central line and peripheral line care and management; perform IV therapy and phlebotomy; adhere to isolation precautions
• Document all patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records (required)
• Float within skillset as needed across the unit; adhere to every-other-weekend and every-other-holiday scheduling requirements

• Active New York Single State RN License required at time of submission (NY is not a Compact state; pending licenses are not accepted)
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required — must be included and valid at time of submittal
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in a PCU, IMC, stepdown, or equivalent setting
• EPIC charting experience is a hard requirement
• Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position

• Experience caring for long-term pulmonary patients and post-surgical stepdown populations
• Familiarity with cardiac drip management and blood product administration protocols
• Prior travel nursing experience (first-time travelers are accepted)
• Experience floating across units within a large acute care or teaching hospital environment

• Gain experience in a high-acuity stepdown environment within a facility certified as an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center
