American Traveler is seeking an LPN for a Medical Surgical unit requiring an active NY LPN license and 1+ year of acute care experience.

• Work on a complex care unit serving Medicine, ortho overflow, and complex long-term patients
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Night shift, 4x12 hours, 7p-7a
• Every other weekend and every other holiday coverage required, if needed
• Epic EMR experience required
• May be required to float within skillset
• Scrub color: any combination of navy blue and white

• Active New York Single State LPN license required at start of assignment (license required if applicable)
• Pending licenses not accepted
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of acute care experience within the last 2 years
• Must be able to take own patient assignment with RN support
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with blood product administration, central line care/management, peripheral line care/management, phlebotomy, PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with high flow nasal cannula, nasal cannula, oxygen administration, oxygen tanks, and trach care/management
• Experience with feeding tube care/management, heparin protocols, pacemakers (temp/perm), and telemetry monitoring
• Experience with rapid response/code teams, isolation precautions, wound care/wound vac, MS/Tele, ortho trauma, total joint replacements, and surgical drains
• Previous travel experience required

• Provide direct patient care including medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, tube feedings, and cardiac monitoring
• Communicate patient status changes to RN/MD as needed
• Client may cancel up to three shifts during the 13-week contract without penalty
• Facility is a 528-bed Magnet-recognized acute care teaching hospital and Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center
• Affiliated with Cleveland Clinic and Roswell Park, offering specialized cardiac, cancer, neuroscience, and surgical programs
• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate
• Candidates must submit time-off requests at time of submission
• Returning staff must wait 6 months system-wide before reapplying
