- Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) is responsible for providing competent direct patient care during cardiac operations, collaborating with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This role is ideal for experienced OR nurses looking to expand their responsibilities in a supportive environment.

• Pay: $40 - $54/hour
• Location: Rochester, NY
• Facility: Strong Memorial Hospital
• Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week

• Collaborate with the surgeon and assist the surgical team in performing cardiac operations.
• Perform OR staff RN duties when not assigned in RNFA role.
• Support peers in the delivery of patient care services.
• Assume charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities.
• Contribute to unit activities and enhance the care delivery system at the unit level.
• Assess unit needs and actively participate in unit/service activities.

• Diploma, Associate or Bachelor's degree from an accredited Nursing Program required.

• Minimum of 6-12 months of RN experience required.

• Current NYS Registered Professional Nurse license required.
• CNOR certification required.
• Completion of an accredited RN First Assistant course required.
• Proficiency in perioperative nursing practice required.
• Cardiac scrubbing and circulating experience preferred.
• Vein harvesting experience required.
