American Traveler is hiring an experienced MICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring a NY RN license in hand and Epic charting experience.
Requirements- Active NY RN license required in hand
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- 1:2 patient ratio experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, arterial and central line care, blood product administration, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Experience managing ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, and airway suctioning
- Experience with CRRT/CVVHD, hemodialysis management, and renal failure care
- Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and phlebotomy preferred
- Experience with massive transfusion protocol and nurse-driven ECMO protocols preferred
- Full 7-year work history with all employment gaps explained
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required
- MICU setting with 16 beds
- Patient population includes sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, heart failure, pre-VAD workups, alcohol withdrawal, overdose, multi-organ failure, post cardiac arrest/TTM, respiratory failure/shock, CRRT, EKOS, IABP, ECMO, and Impella patients
- Nurse to patient ratio of 1:2, with occasional 1:1 based on acuity
- Night shift, 3x12 hours,
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Provide advanced critical care nursing to medically complex ICU patients requiring multisystem organ support
- Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be considered
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Cannot be considered if more than 10 days of requested time off
- Previous employees must have completed assignment more than 6 months prior, system wide
- Call-off policy allows up to 3 shifts per 13-week assignment; being placed on-call in lieu of a call-off counts as a called-off shift
