American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit / IMCU position requiring an active NY RN license in hand and Epic EMR experience.
Requirements- Active NY RN license required in hand, no exceptions
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and Rapid Response/Code team utilization
- Experience with peripheral line care/management
- Experience with respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, and portable oxygen tanks
- Experience with non-invasive airway management and isolation precautions
- 26-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) functioning as a critical care step-down unit
- Receives patients from the Emergency Department, PACU, ICU, and medical-surgical floors
- Adult acute care patient population requiring continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring
- Cares for patients needing airway management, acute BiPAP support, arterial lines, central lines, and titrated IV infusions
- Patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7 for Med Surg-level care
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required
- Care for critical care step-down patients using a multidisciplinary, evidence-based approach
- Tertiary care hospital with 528 staffed beds
- Scrub color requirement: any combination of navy and white
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Candidates must reside within a 75-mile radius of the facility
- Returning staff must wait 6 months system-wide before reapplying
- Candidates with more than 10 days of requested RTO will not be considered
