About This Role

The Emergency Department RN position at Strong Memorial Hospital is ideal for new graduate nurses looking to build their competency in direct patient care. Under the guidance of the Nurse Manager, the RN will contribute to unit activities and enhance the care delivery system.

• Pay: $39 - $53/hour
• Location: Rochester, NY
• Facility: Strong Memorial Hospital
• Department/Unit: Emergency Department
• Schedule: Full-time, Rotating

• Perform patient care in a safe manner, following all policies and procedures.
• Conduct ongoing basic assessments, including physiologic, psychosocial, and developmental components.
• Document assessments, provision of care, medication administration, and care planning according to unit standards.
• Administer and document medications safely and effectively according to hospital policy.
• Identify potential patient/family needs and incorporate them into the plan of care.
• Treat co-workers and patients with courtesy, consideration, respect, and trust.
• Communicate effectively in written, verbal, and non-verbal interactions.
• Engage in continuous learning to promote personal and professional growth.
• Accept and act on constructive feedback from leadership and peers.
• Seek out educational resources to support decision-making and action.

• Associate's degree in Nursing required
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred

• No experience required in most units, but may vary by specialty

  - Registered Nurse
  - State Licensure licensed in New York State (NYS) upon hire required
