American Traveler is hiring an Emergency Department RN for a 13-week assignment requiring an active NY RN license, EPIC experience, and 2 years of ER experience.
Details- Adult Emergency Department setting with all emergency-type diagnoses
- Patient ratio of 1:5 for adult and geriatric patients
- Day shift schedules available: 7a-7p or 11a-11p, 4x12 hours
- Every other weekend requirement
- Every other holiday requirement, if needed
- Floating required within skillset
- Uses specialized equipment including Bair hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling equipment
- EPIC charting system experience required
- Active New York Single State RN license required in hand (NY is not a compact state)
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Preferred certification: PALS, TNCC
- EPIC charting experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy including blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Experience with IV vasopressors and emergency medications
- Skilled in CPAP/BiPAP and ventilator management
- Experience with CVA, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and TBI care
- Cardiac monitoring skills including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and 12-lead EKG/ECG
- Experience with emergency care including gunshot wounds and ortho trauma
- Skilled in isolation precautions/PPE and triage
- Experience managing psychiatric emergencies including acute psychosis, drug overdose, and violent or suicidal patients
- Work in a state-of-the-art, 24/7 emergency department with a centralized layout for rapid patient care and advanced diagnostic technology
- Facility includes a dedicated pediatric ED, discreet crisis intervention unit, and a trauma suite near the ambulance entrance
- Magnet-recognized, Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center within an acute care teaching hospital
- Scrub color requirement: any combination of navy blue and white
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility for RN positions
- Facility may cancel up to three shifts during the 13-week contract without incurring charges
- Previous employees must have at least 6 months since their last assignment system-wide
