Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Rochester, NY | Acute Care

Contract | 13 Weeks | Days and Nights, Alternating 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 PM / 7:00 PM–7:00 AM) | 4x12-Hour Shifts | Every Other Weekend Required | Every Other Holiday Required | On Call:
None

• Assist with vaginal deliveries and circulate, recover, and provide post-operative care for C-section patients
• Administer and monitor Magnesium Sulfate therapy, Pitocin (oxytocin), and Terbutaline; manage Foley catheter insertion and ongoing care
• Perform APGAR scoring, /security banding, and thermoregulation using radiant warmers; provide newborn care including acting as Baby Nurse
• Conduct Non-Stress Tests (NST), apply and interpret External Fetal Heart Monitoring (EFM), and perform IUPC placement and calibration
• Provide fundus, lochia, and perineum care; manage postpartum hemorrhage and pregnancy-induced hypertension
• Float within skillset as required; EPIC charting experience is required

• Active New York Single State RN license required at time of submission (NY is not a Compact state; pending licenses not accepted)
• Required
  
  Certifications:
  
  OB-ACLS or ACLS, BLS, EFM Certification, and NRP
• EPIC charting experience is a hard requirement
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery RN experience required
• Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position

• Experience with GE Fetal and Telemetry Monitors, Monica wireless fetal monitoring, Neopuff, and Draeger newborn warmers
• Familiarity with Non-Epic systems such as CPN or GE Centricity in addition to EPIC
• Experience in a high-acuity Labor and Delivery setting caring for patients across all gestational ages

• Opportunity to work in a Magnet-recognized acute care teaching facility offering advanced Labor and Delivery services, including private birthing suites, on-unit ORs, and both OB and midwifery care
