Position Summary:

The Assistant Director of Nursing collaborates with Core Team all departments to provide leadership and accountability and ensures policies and procedures are in place to meet Federal and State regulations as well as standards of practice. In addition the Assistant Director of Nursing supervises and develops nursing staff members and oversees the programs of the department providing core team support as needed.

Education Required:
  • Current New York State Registered Professional Nursing License, Baccalaureate degree and a minimum of five (5) years of progressive nursing and supervisory experience.

  • Elder advocate: advocate optimal quality of life for elders by responding to QOL concerns
  • Technical competence in AOD, MS Excel and Word, and Outlook
Position Responsibilities:
  • Performance management of Nursing operations Specialists, Infection Preventionist and Nurse Educators
  • Participate in gathering, reporting and analyzing and QAPI data
  • Chair the Nursing Department QAPI meetings and leads the department through the QAPI process
  • Act as clinical liaison with the IT Department for implementation and monitoring of EMR
  • Serve on the Pharmacy and Inter Disciplinary Policy and Procedure Committees
