Job Summary
The Brewing Quality Lead will coordinate and present data across all Brewing Quality functions. They will also be the primary backfill for Brewing Quality Analysts, Microbiologist, and Sensory Lead.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Perform daily data review of Brewing Quality records to ensure accuracy and to identify process improvement gaps.
- Aid management in new product/raw material qualifications.
- Ensures non-conforming raw ingredients and finished goods are identified, properly placed on hold, communicated and dispositioned per NAB food safety and quality policies.
- Work with all departments (Production, Maintenance, Quality) on non-conformance investigations, root cause and corrective/preventative action.
- Support management in the day-to-day operation of Quality testing, inspection and data collection.
- Ensure instrumentation used to perform testing/inspection are calibrated and verified with preventative maintenance completed.
- Audit established SOP’s/Work Instructions for accuracy and update as needed.
- Aid management in establishing and writing new SOP’s/Work Instructions for Quality Control Laboratory.
- Ability to formulate and interpret reports from testing data, up to and including First Time Right metrics
- Ability to discern off notes and characteristics of products through taste and other senses.
- Follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).
- Aid Supervisor in the completion of safety related paperwork including but not limited to injury reporting, and Safety Data Sheet review.
- Keep up to date on all QC testing processes to help train new and existing employees.
- Subject matter expert for Brewing Quality with extensive competency in areas such as nutritional calculations
- Sort and organize retain samples from all production runs. Prepare shipments of product to contract partners.
- Ability to perform instrument calibrations and validations as well as schedule routine preventive maintenance
- Perform 3rd party testing as required, including sample shipments.
- Provide feedback to the brewing and blending teams regarding quality test results.
- Perform data entry into laboratory databases and copacker database portals.
- 4-year college degree in chemistry or biology (or similar field) preferred, or at least five years related laboratory experience in a food/beverage production facility.
- HACCP Certified.
- Trained in federal food and or TTB standards.
- While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands or arms.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
- The employee must occasionally bend, climb, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work with moving mechanical parts and loud noise levels.
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time, up to and potentially the full shift.
- Ability to work with hazardous chemicals and frequently duck under conveyors and equipment.

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base hourly wage for this position is $26.44 - 31.25/hour, not including benefits or potential bonuses. If you are hired at FIFCO USA, your base hourly wage will be determined based on factors such as individual skills, qualifications, and experience.
