Role Description

This is a full‑time, on‑site Quality Engineer role based in the Rochester, New York Metropolitan Area. The Quality Engineer will monitor and improve product quality across circuit board and electro‑mechanical assemblies, including developing and executing inspection plans, reviewing test data, and ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. Daily tasks include investigating nonconformances, conducting internal audits, performing root cause analyses, implementing corrective and preventive actions, and maintaining quality documentation and records.

The role collaborates closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues, optimize processes, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The Quality Engineer will also participate in internal audits, support customer quality reviews, and assist with training team members on quality standards and procedures.

Qualifications
  • Strong foundation in Quality Engineering, including application of quality tools, data analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience in Quality Control activities such as inspection, testing, documenting results, and managing nonconforming material.
  • Background in Quality Assurance, including procedures, audits, and compliance with industry or customer standards.
  • Ability to oversee Product Quality throughout the lifecycle, from incoming materials to finished goods, with a focus on defect prevention.
  • Experience with Quality Management practices, including maintaining quality systems, metrics, and reporting for leadership and customers.
  • Familiarity with printed circuit board assembly, electro‑mechanical assemblies, and relevant inspection and test equipment.
  • Proficiency with root‑cause analysis tools (e.g., 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams) and basic statistical techniques for process control.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams on the manufacturing floor.
  • Experience with ISO or similar quality standards, and prior work in an electronics or contract manufacturing environment is beneficial.
