QC Sampling & Inspection Technician Your role
Reporting to the Microbiology Manager.
Job Summary:
The QC Sampling & Inspection Technician performs sampling and inspection of incoming drug substances, raw materials, and packaging components while following applicable SOPs and cGMPs. Sampling includes utilities such as purified water, water for injection, and pure steam. The role also provides sampling and incoming inspection support for development projects.
- Perform routine sampling of raw materials and packaging components following applicable SOPs and cGMPs.
- Perform utility sampling for purified water, water for injection, and pure steam.
- Analyze inspection test results to ensure conformity to specifications.
- Maintain and stock supplies required for sampling and inspection activities.
- Identify and communicate actual and potential problems; support or provide input for investigations and troubleshooting with supervision.
- Write basic investigations with assistance.
- Gown to aseptic gowning standards.
- Perform data entry and fill out paperwork following applicable SOPs and cGMP/GDPs ensuring accuracy.
- Review colleagues’ work for accuracy in accordance with SOPs and cGMP/GDP requirements.
- Maintain and update training records within required timeframe.
- Monitor and maintain equipment certification/calibration schedules.
- Write and participate in investigations as required.
- Work with physical requirements: visual acuity, color recognition, finger dexterity; read, write, communicate in English; occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Work responsibilities involve chemical and biological agents with assigned hazards; sit approximately 30% of day and stand/walk 70%; may involve repetitive hand use and occasional weekend, holiday, irregular hours.
- Make minor decisions within routine procedures.
- High School Diploma/GED required with 2-5 years of experience in a regulated environment, or an Associates Degree with 1-2 years of experience in a regulated environment.
- Experience with sampling and aseptic techniques.
- Experience in a cGMP environment.
- Experience in written documentation practices.
- Ability to read, communicate, and legibly write in English.
- Strong math skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to quickly learn and demonstrate comprehension of cGMPs and SOPs.
- Basic Outlook, Word, and Excel skills; familiarity with LIMS and inventory management systems (e.g., SAP) desirable.
Must demonstrate visual acuity, color recognition, finger dexterity; work responsibilities involve chemical and biological agents; sit approximately 30% of day, stand/walk 70%; may involve repetitive hand use; occasional lifting up to 50 pounds; normal office environment and occasionally controlled environment work with removal of jewelry and cosmetics; occasional weekend, holiday, irregular hours.
Compensation RangeUSD 23.00 - 26.00 per hour.

The referenced compensation range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
