JOB SUMMARY
The Quality Coordinator is responsible for the product process quality throughout the coating operations. This position will interface with customers to review and resolve issues as they arise by working closely with the Operations Manager and the shop floor. This position is also responsible for maintaining quality systems and process documentation.
Pay Range $25 – $30 per hour
Work Hours:
7:30 am – 4:00 pm, Monday – Friday
- Review incoming quality of parts and packaging to become knowledgeable with parts and any quality issues.
- Review drawings and specifications and determine disposition of parts questioned by Production staff.
- Responsible for reviewing issues brought by Production Assistants (PA) for incoming and outgoing quality of substrates. Provide answers to PA‘s giving final disposition or approval of their disposition of parts. Represent the issues to customer service to communicate with customer if clarification needed.
- Review any spectral measurement issues (non-development), validate test results.
- Perform Environmental Testing – Humidity, Temperature, Abrasion, Adhesion, Solubility.
- Investigate quality concerns looking for root cause (handling, tooling, etc.)
- Make improvements on shop floor to improve efficiency and workflow. Investigate and find solutions to unique situations.
- Assist in training new employees on quality procedures and specifications.
- Understand all production related procedures; maybe non quality related; and assist in new employee training as needed.
- Assist in maintaining procedures, production forms and production folders.
- Coordinate and lead requested customer audits.
- Maintain and manage FAI (First Article Inspection) process for new and prototype work.
- Responsible for the RMA process. Interface with customers to solve quality concerns. Inspect customer returns and disposition parts.
- Provide sales support of specification and test requirements as part of quoting package.
- Document and train on new quality and production related procedures.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), plus two-year college preferred.
- Optics experience – handling and cleaning preferred
- Inspection experience preferred
- Ability to read production documentation and basic part prints
- Strong attention to detail
- Good visual acuity
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time
- Able to lift a maximum of 30 lbs.
