Quality Inspector / QC Technician
Location:
Rochester, NY
Pay Rate: $28–$34/hour, based on experience
OverviewThis third-generation, family-owned precision sheet metal manufacturer has spent over 60 years running the full production lifecycle in-house — from design and tooling through fabrication, robotic welding, and finishing — across 200,000+ square feet of manufacturing space. Growing toward $100M in revenue, they're adding a newly created seat to their Quality team for someone who wants hands‑on inspection work on the floor, not a desk in a lab.
You’ll handle first piece, receiving, in-process, and final inspection alongside operators, build CMM programs from scratch, run the Faro arm and Virtek, read Solid Works models against quality plans, and support NPI (FAIRs, PPAPs, capability studies).
Software: CMM programming software (required), Solid Works (reading), Minitab, Plex
Compensation & Perks- $28–$34/hour based on experience, plus profit sharing (5%, performance-based)
- 1st shift, fully onsite; overtime possible based on business need (not guaranteed)
- Medical (PPO/HMO) eligible 1st of the month after 30 days
- 401(k) with 50% match up to 6%, eligible upon hire
- 2 weeks PTO plus 4 sick/PTO days, 8 paid holidays
- CMM programming experience — must be able to build programs from scratch, not just run existing ones
- Faro arm experience required
- Quality background in a precision manufacturing environment
- Comfortable spending significant time on the production floor working directly with operators
- High school diploma or GED required
Nice to have: ASQ certification, Associate's degree, Virtek, Minitab, Plex
Background check, drug screening, and physical required (drug screening does not test for marijuana).
This is not a remote position — this role is fully onsite. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
