The Associate Chair for Research for Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) is responsible for leading and coordinating research activities related to women's reproductive health. The Associate Chair for Research will develop and implement research programs, manage research staff, secure funding for research projects, and collaborate with other researchers and healthcare professionals to improve patient outcomes and advance the field of OB/GYN.
Duties and Responsibilities:Develop and implement research programs:
The Associate Chair for Research will work with the OB/GYN department to identify research areas of interest and develop research programs to address these areas. The Associate Chair will also establish research goals and objectives and develop strategies to achieve them.
Manage research staff:
The Associate Chair for Research will oversee the work of research staff, including graduate students, post-doctoral fellows research assistants, research coordinators, and clinical trainees. The Associate Chair will provide guidance and support to these staff members and ensure that research activities are conducted in compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines.
Secure funding for research projects:
The Associate Chair for Research will work to secure funding for research projects through grant applications, fundraising, and other means. The Associate Chair will also develop budgets for research projects and monitor expenses to ensure that projects stay within budget.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals:
The Associate Chair for Research will work with researchers and healthcare professionals in the OB/GYN department and other departments to develop research projects and collaborate on research activities. The Associate Chair will also work with external partners, such as pharmaceutical companies and other research institutions, to advance research in OB/GYN.
Publish research findings:
The Associate Chair for Research will publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present research findings at conferences and other professional events. The Associate Chair will also ensure that research findings are disseminated to healthcare professionals and the public in a clear and accessible manner.
Advanced degree:
The Associate Chair for Research should have an advanced degree (PhD or MD) in a relevant field, such as epidemiology, public health, or biostatistics.
Research experience:
The Associate Chair for Research should have extensive research experience in women's reproductive health, including experience with research design, data analysis, and publication of research findings.
Management experience:
The Associate Chair for Research should have experience managing research staff and overseeing research projects.
Funding experience:
The Associate Chair for Research should have experience securing funding for research projects through grant applications, fundraising, or other means.
Communication skills:
