Postdoctoral Research Associate – Addiction Treatment Intervention Development

Addiction Treatment Intervention Development The University of Rochester School of Nursing seeks a full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate to serve as Project Director for an NIH-funded study developing and pilot-testing a novel couples-based addiction treatment intervention for heterosexual couples in which both partners have drug use disorders. The study combines mixed-methods research, intervention mapping, and stakeholder co-creation to build a relationship-centered treatment.
Working with Dr. James McMahon and Dr. Janie Simmons, the successful candidate will help design and implement the study, have opportunities to develop first-author publications, collaborate on interdisciplinary research, and strengthen an independent program of research in substance use treatment and behavioral intervention development.
Qualifications include a doctorate in a relevant field by appointment, strong qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-methods training, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Experience with substance use disorders, mental health, or vulnerable populations is preferred.
This full-time, two-year position with negotiable start-date, requires residence in the Rochester, NY area.
Salary is competitive: $60,000–$65,000, based on NIH guidelines.
