Location: City of Rochester
We are seeking a Laser Sales Manager to join our team in Rochester, NY.
Location:
Rochester, NY – formerly Pittsford, NY. Position: full-time.
Qualification:
experienced professional.
- Manage the full sales lifecycle by overseeing the entire sales process for a diverse territory and handling complex sales cycles for academic and commercial customers using the company CRM system.
- Act as the primary liaison between customer requirements and engineering capabilities, identifying new applications in quantum, biophotonics, and materials science.
- Work with leadership to define the North American sales strategy and analyze market data to uncover new opportunities in research and industrial sectors.
- Travel extensively to client sites to demonstrate product capabilities and validate that product specifications meet customers’ rigorous demands.
- Act as the voice of the North American market by gathering insights on emerging scientific trends and competitor activity to influence product development roadmaps.
- Own your numbers by meeting annual booking and revenue targets through proactive pipeline management and sales activity.
- Commit to ongoing technical training, including visits to the company headquarters in Munich, to stay abreast of advancements in photonics technology.
- PhD or Master’s degree in Physics, Photonics, or a related field.
- Ability to bridge scientific consulting with commercial value selling.
- Exceptional presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex technical concepts into clear value propositions.
- Highly organized with strong computer literacy (CRM, Office Suite, Data Analysis).
- Willingness to travel extensively across North America and to the company headquarters in Germany.
- Prior experience in the photonics industry or quantum technology space.
- Prior sales experience in a technical or scientific field.
