Account Executive – Cannabis Sales (New York)

An established and growing cannabis company is seeking an experienced Account Executive to support retail expansion throughout New York State. This role is responsible for developing new business opportunities, growing dispensary partnerships, and increasing market presence across the assigned territory.

The ideal candidate is a motivated sales professional with experience in cannabis or another regulated industry who enjoys building relationships, identifying new opportunities, and delivering strong business results. This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in expanding distribution while working in one of the fastest-growing industries in the country.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, prospect, and secure new dispensary and retail partnerships throughout the assigned territory.
• Develop and execute territory growth strategies to increase market share and brand presence.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with dispensary owners, buyers, and key decision-makers.
• Conduct sales presentations, product education, and business meetings with prospective customers.
• Negotiate and close new business opportunities while maintaining a healthy sales pipeline.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a seamless onboarding experience for new accounts.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to identify new opportunities.
• Participate in vendor days, trade shows, and industry events to strengthen customer relationships and increase brand awareness.
• Maintain accurate records of sales activity, customer interactions, and forecasts within the CRM system.
• Consistently achieve or exceed established sales goals and performance expectations.
• Travel throughout Central and Western New York to support business development and account growth.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of sales or business development experience, preferably in cannabis, beverage, CPG, or another regulated industry.
• Knowledge of the New York cannabis market is strongly preferred.
• Existing relationships with New York dispensaries or retail buyers are a plus.
• Proven ability to generate new business and manage a sales territory independently.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Highly organized, self-motivated, and results-driven.
• Experience using CRM systems and sales reporting tools.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
• Ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory.

Compensation

• Base Salary: $70,000–$80,000 annually, based on experience.
