Junior Relationship Manager / Financial Advisor

A well-established institutional fixed income and wealth management firm is seeking a motivated junior financial advisor/relationship manager to join its business development team. This is a developmental role designed for an early-career or transitioning sales professional to build a strong foundation in relationship management and new business development. The successful candidate will work closely with senior advisors and the sales team, initially focusing on learning to service and deepen existing High-Net-Worth, institutional, and intermediary relationships while progressively building their own prospecting pipeline across these same channels.

This role offers structured mentorship and hands-on exposure to client servicing, portfolio review preparation, and business development activities, with the goal of preparing the candidate to grow into a senior advisor/relationship manager role over time.

Some experience or coursework related to Fixed Income (Taxable, Tax-sensitive, Credit, Cash Management) is a plus, but not required — training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities
  • Learn and support relationship management for existing HNW, institutional, and intermediary clients under the guidance of senior advisors:
    • Shadow client meetings, calls, and portfolio reviews
    • Assist in preparing client-facing materials and account servicing requests
    • Respond to routine client inquiries with senior team oversight, escalating as appropriate
  • Begin building a personal prospecting pipeline across:
    • HNW individuals
    • Small endowments, foundations, and corporations
    • RIAs and RIA aggregators
    • Centers of influence / referral sources
  • Support senior advisors with business development activities, including prospect research, CRM data management, and outreach coordination
  • Attend client meetings, industry conferences, and due diligence presentations alongside senior team members to develop presentation and negotiation skills
  • Partner with investment, client service, marketing, and compliance teams to support sales and growth initiatives
  • Progressively take on greater ownership of client relationships and prospect segments as skills and product knowledge develop
  • Complete a structured onboarding and mentorship program

Taxable Fixed Income/Equity/Balanced product suite, and the firm's sales process
  • Provide market intelligence and observations gathered from client and prospect interactions to senior management
Qualifications
  • 1–3 years of experience in financial services, sales, or client service (internships and rotational program experience considered); recent graduates with strong aptitude also encouraged to apply
  • Genuine interest in building a long-term career in wealth/institutional sales and relationship management
  • Coachable, proactive, and eager to learn from senior advisors and mentors
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Foundational understanding of investment concepts; interest in or exposure to fixed income a plus
  • Comfortable with prospecting and outreach activities under guidance
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Willingness to pursue relevant industry licensing (e.g., Series 65/66) as required by the role
What Success Looks Like
  • Demonstrated growth in relationship management skills and client servicing competence
  • Development of a foundational prospect pipeline and early referral network
  • Growing proficiency in the firm'sin vestment strategies
  • Positive feedback and increasing autonomy granted by senior advisors/mentors
  • Steady progression toward greater ownership of client relationships and new business responsibilities
  • Reliable support of existing client touchpoints while contributing meaningfully to new business efforts

This is an opportunity to build a career at the ground floor of a well-established investment management firm, with direct mentorship from experienced advisors and a clear path toward a senior relationship management role.
