The work is performed outdoors year‑round with modified Level D safety requirements (street clothes, safety glasses, nitrile gloves, and steel‑toed boots). Projects are conducted at industrial clients, MSW landfills and municipal sites across NYS, and most activities are mandated by the NYSDEC, USEPA, or local County agencies.

  • Operate sampling equipment and maintain proper documentation.
  • Interact with clients and regulatory agency personnel on a routine basis.
  • Assist in project planning and management, including report preparation.
  • Adhere to OSHA safety regulations, storm water management principles, and other applicable guidelines.
Qualifications
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Strong desire to work outdoors every day.
  • Ability to think on your feet and adapt to changing conditions.
  • Clean, no‑points driver’s license and must be insurable.
  • Must pass a drug screen.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.
  • Willingness to travel overnight within NYS, approximately three weeks per quarter (travel expenses paid by ALS).
  • Knowledge of sampling methods, equipment, regulatory guidelines, water chemistry, field analytical methods, OSHA regulations, storm water management, groundwater geology, hydrology, limnology, and documentation best practices.
Benefits

Paid time off, personal/sick leave, holiday time, medical, dental, and vision plans, partial matching 401(k), company‑provided 4WD vehicle, OSHA 40‑hour training and other required courses, safety clothing, boots, and eyewear. Flex schedule based on workload, weather, and laboratory requirements.
