Security Guard - South Ave Garage
The Security Guard personnel are responsible for the day-to-day operations and safety of the parking garage. They monitor facility automated systems and enforce building policies and procedures as directed by management. The position reports to the Parking and Security Manager and Assistant Manager of Riverside Parking.
Officers are responsible for being current on all NYS guard law required training and keeping their NYS security license current. Officers must adhere to NYS guard law guidelines.
Primary Responsibilities- Works as scheduled in required uniform attire.
- Answers and directs a variety of incoming and internal phone calls according to established guidelines; communicates with other staff as well as patrons.
- Distributes and records all portable radios, keys and first aid equipment.
- Is responsible for daily opening and closing of the facility, including all lighting, doors, etc.
- Monitors closed circuit television video recording systems; logs/reports any inconsistencies with normal building routine.
- Follows established procedures with regard to emergency situations: i.e. fire, bomb threat, medical, etc.; maintains professional image.
- Keeps written daily logs and reports in the areas of Lost and Found, property damage, theft and incidents involving patrons/staff as well as vehicles.
- Scheduling requires Guest Service personnel to be flexible in off-shift availability.
- Officers’ schedules may vary at times depending on event schedules. Officers may have to stay over in the event of a call off and/or an officer running late to maintain continuity of services and ensure safety and security of operations.
- Individuals are responsible for working inside and outside the facility with exposure to inclement weather and in unpredictable crisis situations.
- Perform other duties, functions, special projects as assigned by management.
- Previous security experience required;
NYS Security License required. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in dealing with the public under normal and abnormal conditions and in working under emergency conditions.
