Job DescriptionPer diem officers are expected to follow ESCT general orders, post orders, client instructions, and supervisor directives at all times. This is an on-call or as-needed position. Availability does not guarantee a minimum number of hours. Shift assignments may vary by location, schedule, and operational demand. Employment with ESCT is at-will unless otherwise established in a written agreement signed by authorized company leadership.
PrimaryResponsibilities
Maintain a visible and alert security presence at assigned posts
Conduct foot patrols, vehicle patrols, fire watch tours, or stationary post coverage as assigned
Inspect assigned areas for safety hazards, unauthorized persons, suspicious activity, property damage, or security breaches
Control entry and exit in accordance with post orders and client procedures
Monitor visitors, vendors, contractors, residents, tenants, and employees as applicable|Prevent unauthorized access and report trespassing or access violations promptly
Respond promptly and professionally to emergencies, disturbances, medical calls, and fire alarms
Notify supervisors, law enforcement, fire personnel, EMS, or property management when required
Complete Daily Activity Reports, incident reports, pass-on logs, and other documentation accurately before end of shift
Maintain timely communication with supervisors regarding call-offs, lateness, incidents, and unusual conditions
Maintain a neat appearance and wear the prescribed uniform and equipment in accordance with ESCT standards
Remain on post until properly relieved unless directed otherwise by supervision
High school diploma or GED preferred
Valid New York State Security Guard Registration or ability to obtain and maintain required registration and training
Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, holidays, overnights, and short-notice assignments|Reliable transportation to and from assigned sites|Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English Ability to use a smartphone or mobile device to complete reports and related documentation
Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful or emergency situations
Ability to pass required background screening, onboarding, and employment eligibility requirements
Prior security, military, law enforcement, fire watch, concierge, patrol, or customer service experience
Experience with incident reporting and Daily Activity Reports Familiarity with access control, patrol procedures, and emergency response
Current certifications in first aid, CPR, de-escalation, or related safety training
Valid New York State Security Guard Registration (or ability to obtain prior to assignment)
Flexible scheduling across multiple sites
Opportunities for additional shifts based on availability and performance
On-call assignments across a range of client locations and post types

Experience with incident reporting and daily activity reportsCPR, First Aid, or related safety training
Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to climb stairs and conduct patrols
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Ability to lift and carry work-related equipment as needed
Ability to maintain alertness throughout the shift
Schedule
This is a per diem / as-needed position. Hours are not guaranteed and will be based on client needs, call-offs, special assignments, and operational demand.
Compensation Competitive hourly rate based on assignment, experience, and site requirements.
