We're seeking an experienced Heavy Line Technician to join our growing service team. This role is ideal for a skilled automotive professional who enjoys tackling complex mechanical repairs, diagnosing challenging issues, and producing high-quality work in a fast-paced shop environment. - Perform work listed on repair orders efficiently and accurately
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair major automotive systems including:
- Engines (including rebuilds, cylinder head work, timing components, lifters, etc.)
- Transmissions
- Electrical systems
- Steering & suspension
- Braking systems
- Heating & air conditioning systems
- Test-drive vehicles and use diagnostic tools to identify issues
- Communicate clearly with Service Advisors regarding findings, timelines, and additional recommended repairs
- Provide accurate labor/time estimates for complex mechanical repairs
- Document all work performed according to company standards
- Stay current with technical training and new repair procedures
- Assist in mentoring junior technicians when needed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Follow all company safety protocols and repair quality standards
- 2+ years of professional automotive technician experience (heavy line experience strongly preferred)
- Advanced mechanical and diagnostic skills
- Ability to diagnose and repair major mechanical systems
- Strong electrical and engine repair capabilities
- ASE certifications preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to operate modern diagnostic and scan tools
- Positive attitude and commitment to high-quality workmanship
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
