Position OverviewMaintenance Mechanic at our Farmington NY facility.
$26.00-$35.00/Hr based on experience – 3rd Shift 3:30 am – 12:00 pm.
Job Description- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on industrial machinery and buildings to include, but not limited to:
- Conveyors (All types)
- Power transmission systems (direct, belt, and chain driven)
- Hydraulic balers
- Granulators
- Air compressors and associated systems
- Docks, doors, and dock levelers
- Repair and/or replace motors, speed‑reduction/gear boxes, chain drives, rollers, belt lacing and belts using industry standard methods for installation (e.g., alignment and tensioning).
- Make repairs or replacements to air handling systems utilizing blowers of various types.
- Fabricate, repair, and install all types of guarding on material handling equipment at the plant.
- Repair building plumbing systems and their components.
- Fit, install, and repair all types of piping and tubing systems, including black iron, plastic, brass, copper, and rubber piping and tubing systems.
- Troubleshoot and replace electric circuits and systems, including motors, fuses, circuit breakers, contractors, sensing switches and devices, control wiring, and transformers.
- Read schematics and drawings proficiently.
- Repair and replace failed lighting circuits and components.
- Use chain falls, hoists, forklifts, and tele‑handlers to safely rig and move equipment and parts or components for installation or replacement.
- Safely strap and use chains to secure equipment or material for lifting.
- Use electrical test devices safely and appropriately.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in industrial maintenance.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- A.S. in Engineering Technology or equivalent, or vocational school training in a related field.
- Welding certification.
- Certifications as an operator of material handling equipment (forklifts, telehandlers, loaders, etc.).
- Experience rigging and moving equipment.
- Training in electrical safety and/or NFPA 70E.
- Experience maintaining and repairing material handling equipment and powered industrial trucks (forklifts and loaders).
