Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Automotive Mechanic, Automotive Technician
Education:
High School Diploma Required;
Associate’s Degree in Diesel Power or related field preferred;
Experience-Minimum three years experience in Medium/Heavy Duty truck fleet mechanic repair experience or bus fleet mechanic repair experience;
Certification: ASE Master School Bus Technician (S1-S6) or ASE Master Medium-Heavy Truck Technician (T2-T7) preferred;
Must work towards either ASE Master Bus Technician or Master Medium Heavy Truck Technician Certification. License:
Valid Illinois Driver’s License-Class B CDL, School Bus Endorsement with air brakes preferred, but not required.
Other:
Possess the recommended minimum hand tools for a bus mechanic. Must be able to lift a minimum of 65 pounds. Must be able to work in a crouched position or on back lying on a mechanic’s dolly.

Work Year: 12 month employee
Starting Salary: $25.00 per hour
