Overview
Working under the direction of the Maintenance Department Manager, the electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing all electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures on hospital property. This role ensures an uninterrupted power supply and compliance with safety standards (NFPA, Joint Commission) to support critical patient care and facility operations. The position requires performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing malfunctions in complex machinery and systems, project and contractor coordination, providing technical expertise to work groups, and responding to emergency power outages.
SalaryRange
$30.75-$40.23 an hour
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

- Education:
High School or GED; trade school or equivalent military training as well as certification and/or license in specialty. - Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years of commercial or industrial electrical experience, with 2 years of healthcare experience preferred. - License/Certification
Required:
Certification and/or license in specialty; valid New York State driver’s license;
City of Rochester Master Electrical license (or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire).
