Job OverviewNumotion, North America's largest provider of mobility products and services, seeks a dedicated Service Technician to join our Rochester team at the BH Town Line Rd location. This full‑time, regular position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of people with disabilities by servicing and repairing complex manual and powered wheelchairs and other essential medical equipment.
Responsibilities• Diagnose and repair mobility equipment according to manufacturer specifications.
• Work in shop and field, identifying issues, obtaining quotes, and completing repairs efficiently.
• Maintain rental and stock equipment, keeping it clean and organized.
• Manage parts inventory: receive, store, ship components, and maintain accurate documentation.
• Educate customers and caregivers on proper use, care, and safety practices.
• Perform minor fittings and adjustments to customize equipment.
• Follow safety procedures and regulations.
• Participate in required in‑service training.
• Handle physical demands: lift up to 50 lbs, pull/push equipment over 100 lbs, stand, bend, kneel for prolonged periods, work in various weather conditions.
• Occasional overtime as needed.
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum two years of relevant mechanical experience
- Experience with medical equipment preferred
- 1–2 years in a technical or mechanical role
- Previous wheelchair or mobility equipment repair experience (preferred)
- Experience working efficiently in a fast‑paced environment
- Experience with inventory management and parts tracking (preferred)
- Experience with customer service or client interaction
- Experience with basic documentation and record‑keeping
- Experience working independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency with hand and power tools for equipment repair
- Basic knowledge of Word Processing, Email, and Internet applications
- Problem‑solving and quick decision‑making abilities
- Valid State Driver's License with satisfactory driving record
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull equipment over 100 lbs
- Strong manual dexterity for equipment manipulation and repairs
- Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for prolonged periods
- Capacity to work in various weather conditions
- Effective communication skills for customer education
- Organizational skills for maintaining clean work environments
- Attention to detail for accurate documentation
- Ability to work overtime when required
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Pay Range: $20.33 to $26.42 per hour, not typical to hire at the top of the range; compensation determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
