Job Description
A Commercial HVAC Service Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in commercial settings such as offices, retail stores, and other business establishments. They will work with blueprints and schematics to troubleshoot and maintain preexisting HVAC units.
Responsibilities- Regularly inspect and test HVAC systems to ensure they are functioning properly.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot any malfunctions in HVAC systems.
- Repair or replace faulty parts in HVAC systems.
- Perform regular preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
- Ensure HVAC systems are energy efficient and comply with safety and environmental standards.
- 1-5 years of experience in HVAC Service (Commercial or Residential)
- OSHA 10 / EPA Certifications
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
- Skills in repair, service, electrical work, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with HVAC servicing
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and preventative maintenance
- Knowledge of boiler systems

Work EnvironmentThe motto here is 'Hire for attitude, train for skill.' The company, currently with 23 employees, is looking to grow. While employees are given a lot of freedom, this comes with a high level of responsibility. Employees will drive themselves to job sites within a 30-mile radius of the headquarters in Rochester, NY. Projects vary in size depending on the client and location.
Typical hours are 7 AM to 3:30 PM with a half-hour lunch break. Service Technicians will use ladders, cranes, lifts, refrigerants, trade tools, and testing equipment. Technicians will be on call 24 hours for one week (Monday through Sunday), every 5 or 6 weeks, with a $100 bonus for each on-call week.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rochester, NY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $32.00/hr.
