Location: City of Rochester

This role develops the skills necessary to progress to a trained Utility Mechanic professional in the Wegmans Maintenance organization. You will be part of a team that is empowered to solve complex problems daily and continually learn and develop new skills. What will I do?

Acquire the skills, knowledge, and experience needed to effectively repair equipment for emergency and non-emergency needs, and perform repairs on industrial refrigeration, HVAC and control systems with proper troubleshooting and safety techniques
Create and maintain timely records of work
Interact and coordinate with maintenance vendors
Work and communicate effectively with a team, assisting other personnel as necessary to ensure all tasks are completed safely and in a timely manner
Understand and comply with food and human safety procedures while performing maintenance tasks
Maintain Wegmans’ high standards of quality and incredible customer service at all times

Required Qualifications:

5 or more years of related work experience
Sound mechanical and electrical background, as well as knowledge of welding and plumbing
Strong computer skills, with ability to interface with various building and control systems
Completion of EPA Universal Certification, and RSES, RETA and/or OSHA training is preferred
Refrigeration and/or Steam License is preferred

Occupational Safety and Health Administration;
