Job Title:
Clinical Engineer – Medical Equipment Maintenance
Schedule:
Full time, 40 hours per week, UR – Day (United States)
Compensation: $30.93 – $43.30 per hour (within job’s range)
Responsibilities- Service on low, medium, and/or high risk equipment as described in the Medical Equipment Management Plan.
- Complete preventive maintenance, safety inspection, calibration, installation, advanced troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic devices.
- Service equipment in both hospital environments and numerous off‑site locations.
- Work in close proximity to patients and staff in intensive care units and operating room settings.
- Interface effectively with all members of the Clinical Engineering team.
- Perform safety/preventive maintenance inspections and services on electronic and electromechanical biomedical equipment to determine operational status and compliance with manufacturers and industry technical standards and specifications.
- Install, maintain, and calibrate electronic and electromechanical biomedical equipment according to manufacturer’s specifications.
- Troubleshoot, isolate equipment malfunctions, and repair electronic and electromechanical biomedical equipment.
- Respond to operator complaints about equipment malfunctions, often involving correction of operator errors.
- Perform equipment modifications when provided with instructions, diagrams, prints, or schematics.
- Maintain electronic medical equipment management database files for compliance with departmental and accreditation requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or GED and 4 years of experience closely related within a hospital, the military, or a comparable organization.
- Associate’s degree in Electronic or Instrumentation Technology with particular focus on Biomedical Engineering Technology preferred.
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent customer service skills required.
- Ability to read schematics and mechanical diagrams preferred.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
- Advanced networking and system integrations preferred.
- Driver’s License, valid and in state with means of transportation to service offsite locations upon hire required.
